Stuff

1. Comcast fixed my TV Channels. Finally. Woo

2. I was able to eat lunch and not be sick! Woo^2

3. My new work laptop is all set up and working! Woo^3

4. I am feeling like splurging and buying a couple more cookie sheets so I can have a real production line when it comes to baking. Yesterday while I was sick I decluttered the kitchen and boxed up Eric's kitchen stuff. Now I have a better idea of how much space I have to fill.

5. I am thinking that I need Holy Land Deli for dinner tonight. Mmm... gyros...

Check out the Nordic Ware Factory outlet in SLP for baking stuff.

I was thinking about doing a shopping spree there in a couple weeks. :)

Go to their website and sign up and you can get a coupon for 20% off!

I've been there once, several years ago. I've been meaning to go again soon, but I'm trying to not spend a lot of money right now.

I just found that! I was looking to see if I could find their hours.

I went with my mom awhile ago. It was fun but that was before I had space to bake at my house.

Ha - that building used to be my cats' pet hospital back in the day.

And now it's housing instruments of yumminess making!

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-10-28 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
They have crappy hours. That is why I haven't been in ages.

[identity profile] lisianthia.livejournal.com 2008-10-28 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, they aren't open on Mondays, which is lame 'cause I don't usually work then and could go.

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-10-28 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
And the rest of their hours is 10-5 Tuesday - Saturday. Actually the Saturday ones would usually work but I just wanted to complain. Ha!

I am compiling a list for when I go. I think a couple half sheets and a couple loaf pans.

Which reminds me. I should order my socks tonight.

Hooray for fixed cable, keeping lunch down, and new laptops!

If you buy your cookie sheets from a restaurant supply store (I like Hockenbergs on Kasota, personally) you'll get a much higher-quality product than you'd get at Target and you'll spend a lot less money. Restaurant supply stores are dangerous for me.

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-10-28 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Nordicware has half sheets. I like that place but if a resturant supply place is open better hours I might be tempted away from it.

Ok, I looked it up and they have hours that are just as bad!

[identity profile] jessikate.livejournal.com 2008-10-28 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, their hours suck too. But I'd swear that a half sheet pan is under $5 there, so to me it's worth dealing with crappy hours.

It is one of those things that even missing an hour of work to go shopping there makes it cheaper for me to go someplace more expensive. At least they have some saturday hours. I will go in a couple weeks.

If you're at the holy land at the Midtown market after 6:00 pm I'll be there. If I see ya I'll be sure to say hi. :)

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-10-28 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course it will be that one! I live just a few blocks from there.

What are you doing there?

[identity profile] xingularity.livejournal.com 2008-10-28 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
A group of friends and I all meet there every Tuesday night around 6:00. We sit near the kids play area usually. :)

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-10-28 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Fun!

What do you normally get to eat? I tend to just get Holy Land because I love it so much.

[identity profile] xingularity.livejournal.com 2008-10-28 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
My absolute favorite is a burrito at Los Ocompo. There is a ton of good food there. Holy Land is very good, but it depends on what I'm in the mood for. In the back is a place that does Mexican and breakfast together. I think it's call Los Lomos? And they have some of the best french toast. Andy's Garage has killer sweet potato fries. I haven't been getting much there lately, cause I only have so much cash to spend and I've been spending most of it on dates with my girlfriend. :) Though now that gas prices are going down I can probably start splurging on dinners again. :)
