Hair

Most of my adult life I have envied my sister's hair. Her hair is long (usually around the middle of her back) and that color blond that people pay a lot of money to have. To make up for my hair envy I dyed my hair red and kept it short in a bob.

Then I got lazy. I didn't want to dye it myself anymore and I didn't want to pay for it either. Then I missed an appointment and it never seemed to really get annoying enough to call for another hair cut. So it is now just below my shoulders and my natural hair color. You know what? I really like my hair now. I love the color, I like the length and I finally feel like I also have beautiful hair.

OK, It still isn't that color. Then again, Serinia gets stopped a lot to talk about her hair. I bet that gets annoying.

I am jealous of most people's hair. Whatever it is that they do, they manage to do it so much better than I could ever hope to, and it just infuriates me. TELL ME YOUR SECRETS.

I wash it and sometimes brush it.

That was what was so funny about this discovery. I learned I was trying to do too much with my hair. Your hair is so curly I don't think this would work for you. BTW, I do wish I had curly hair a lot of the time.

I wish I had curly hair, too :) My hair is just curly enough to be annoying, but not quite curly enough to be cute or stylish. It mostly manifests as frizzed out and dry. I'm just going to cut it all off and start over, I think. My goal for next year is going to be to figure out WTF my natural color is and let that be it for a while.

It was really hard for me to not dye it for a long time. I actually got "shines" on my hair while it grew out. They would fade nicely when I grew out.

I just remember liking your hair a lot. It is cute!

I have curly hair and I stopped washing it years ago. Curly hair is more dry than straight and washing it frequently really strips out what little natural oil there is and makes it frizz. Try just conditioning for awhile and see if that helps.

I did the Curly Girl thing for a year or two, and I didn't like how it made my hair feel. It always felt weighed down and stiff (I wasn't using -cones, either, I was totally faithful).

People are jealous of my hair. ;)

Totally. It is just so awesome. :)

I get stopped a lot by people asking about my hair color. I don't find it annoying at all. It's kinda nice. I'm always amazed by how many people think I am really a redhead.

When we were in Korea people would stop and touch her hair. Or ask if they could play with it. I would have issue with that.

the weird thing is I have never wanted to be blonde. No offense to blondes or anything, it just doesn't appeal to me. EXCEPT that you could dye it, like, blue, and the color would show!

...but I can't dye my hair blue anymore anyway.

Oh, I don't get the want to be blonde. It is so light and your hair never looks so nice as dark hair. I like your color a lot.

However, you are right. I could dye my any color I want it to be without any problem. I never did blue but I did pink and orange pretty often.

I get stopped ALL. THE. TIME. in regards to my hair. People [who work in hair] offer to buy it if I ever cut it. I get asked frequently if I dye it, because it looks like a different color in different kinds of light. I had a teacher in high school who asked me EVERY DAY if I had dyed it. People freak out when I tell them that I've NEVER dyed it, nor do I heat or chemical treat it OR put product in it. They want to touch it, to smell it (weird) and to just plain admire it.

It does get kinda old, but at the same time, it's flattering.
