Read Superpowers!

My cousin, David J. Schwartz ([livejournal.com profile] snurri) has written a book, Superpowers that came out yesterday. If you live in the Minneapolis area he will be doing a book reading tomorrow at Dreamhaven Books, 912 West Lake Street in Minneapolis, at 7 PM and you should go. Otherwise you can buy his book and read it. This is what I will be reading this weekend.

I don't think so unless I had a really good reason. I liked Korea and I liked seeing how people live there but it didn't really speak to my soul or anything. I am not sure I would do well in that culture for long periods of time, I don't know if I got the wrong impression but the status of women is sort of odd to me. I have a feeling that is the way it was for women here in the US 30 years ago or so.

YES. Although, it's better now for women than when I first went there in 1993.

I am sure. It wasn't any specific incident either. It was mostly the fact that men there were OK with the fact that I was direct and looked people in the eye because I was a foreign visitor but expected something different from women that were from there. It was very odd to see that because I am pretty insulated from that.

It is about a group of friend that go out drinking and wake up the next morning with Superpowers. I am guessing there will be signing but I am not sure. I am also a sucker for autographs.

I was planning on going to this all day, and then my gf calls to tell me her brother from Cali is in town, and we are going out to dinner. Shucks!
