Ouch Ouch Ouch

Some years ago my dad and brother were supposed to help me move a bookshelf to the first floor of my building. However, they kept putting me off so, in one of my rare fits of temper, I decided to move it all myself. Now this bookshelf was six feet wide, one foot deep and five feet tall and made out of plywood. Needless to say I ended up spraining my shoulder, which hurt at the time and makes it so I have a good excuse to pay someone to hang sheetrock on my ceilings. However, the last couple days my shoulder just aches. I bet I slept on it wrong or something but last night it hurt so much I couldn't sleep, even with painkillers. I am so annoyed.

Ouch! That sucks so much. I'd call them and guilt them or something.

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I should! I bet I could get things out of them to appease their guilt.

[identity profile] sterlingphoenix.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. Don't you need a new mixer or TV or car or something?

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I do need a car to use on Friday so my car can get fixed and it's oil changed. This might be the perfect time to pull out guilt.

Doesn't the place you go to give you a loaner?

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I never asked. Weird.

I should ask!

[identity profile] sterlingphoenix.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, or at least if they have a shuttle service.

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
They are really far south and away from work. I should switch places but I hate trying new service places.

[identity profile] sterlingphoenix.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I hear you. If you have a good mechanic you should stick with them!

I'm kinda lucky, there's a guy right by my house who's pretty good. I'm also lucky cause I've only gone to a mechanic once in the past like 9 years. KNOCK ON WOOD.

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
My car has bad luck. I ran over a pipe on I94 and needed a new engine. I parked on a street and a bus hit me. My car has been broken into many a time so I have had to go to a shop much more than I would want to. Right now I have to go for an oil change (I hate doing that on my car) and the driver's side window doesn't go up and down any longer. That is the only window I care about!

So, yeah, I'll drive to richfield to get them to fix it.

[identity profile] sterlingphoenix.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
See, I had my car window not go up but I was able to fix that myself! Engines I won't touch, but a bad switch, that I can do (:

My car was broken into at LEAST once. There is an epidemic of car breakins at the dog park parking lot, su I just leave it unlocked (and, if I can, with the windows down) and with nothing in it worth stealing. They were in there once, took like $2 in change and emptied everything out of the glovebox and onto the seat, but if the car is locked they break a window.

I do my oil changes at a jiffy place. Leave the car, go across the street to Brueggers. (:

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought about fixing it myself but it was just too much work and I am not that fond of mechanical stuff. I actually just think the window is off the track and so doesn't get in there right.

The last car breakin was someone trying to steal my radio and they ripped apart my whole dashboard because they had no idea what they were doing. The funniest thing was the radio didn't actually work. Sigh.

Nice! I wonder if there is a place around here that does that? though they rotate my tires too.

[identity profile] sterlingphoenix.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, if I need an Actual Service thing other than just the oil I usually go to the dealer. Unless Jiffy Lube can do that now, I forget.

The window thing wasn't mechanical at all, it was a bad switch. I managed to find it online and put it in there (:

The dog park breakins are really quick deals. We assume that they see something they want in the car, break a window, grab it and leave within like 45 seconds.

Then we all wait for the police for 2 hours.

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't ever gone to the dealer. How old is your car?

I am just scared to pull my whole door apart. I wish Eric would do it for me, he is good at that sort of thing.

Good thing you leave the doors unlocked!

[identity profile] sterlingphoenix.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I hardly ever lock my car. If they're going to steal something, they're going to steal it either way. I'd rather they don't break stuff, too.

My car's a 2002, but I've only had it for a year. And I've not taken it back to the dealer since I got it (even though they do need to do a free adjustment they sent out letters about). My previous car was a 99 and I had it since it was a baby. The one time it had to go to a shop was when I crashed it into the median on 694. It was NOT my fault, someone left a huge sheet of ice in the middle of the road, and it was either hit the median or hit a gas tanker.

Remember how I told you that whenever I try to go to Colorado really bad stuff happens? That was one of those times.

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I am in the habit of locking my car. I think it is because people will break into cars to dodge the police in my neighborhood when I used to part on the street. Plus I liked knowing that no one is in the car when I walk up to it. If I lived in a nicer neighborhood I am sure I wouldn't lock it.

Sucky! Poor car!

It is funny that bad things happen when you go to Colorado. Have you tried going to Wyoming and faked out luck?

[identity profile] sterlingphoenix.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I've pretty much been thinking that I need to end up in Colorado by mistake. But that trip was actually an "I'm just gonna drive thataway for a week and then drive back and mayyyyyybe I'll end up in Colora*CRASH*".

So THAT didn't work.

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL. It is too bad, I love Colorado, I want to go back soon. Actually I also want to go to Yosemite and drive over the rockies on the way there.

[identity profile] sterlingphoenix.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I really want to go to Colorado. A good friend of mine moved up there and he keeps trying to get me to come over. In fact, I tried to go there for his wedding once and that was a COMPLETE disaster.

It could be the crazy weather. I know that changes in the weather always make my ankle (which I broke a few years ago) hurt like crazy.

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't think of that. It just aches, I feel like an old woman or something.

[identity profile] damncutekitty.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
The first few months after surgery I could actually feel the screws in my ankle expand and contract every time there was a change in barometric pressure. Now it kinda just aches from time to time. Especially when there is a storm.

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I am really creeped out by that now. :P

[identity profile] damncutekitty.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
hehehehe....

I second the motion.
