yay! Since the best thing about Gainesville is the rockin' food, I'm going to take you guys to a cool place for lunch and for dinner, if that's okay with you.
You'll have to decide between the following types of food, however, since we won't have time to try them all:
For dinner: Satchels - Best pizza in Florida (the world??). My favorite toppings are tomato, basil, spinach, pineapple. They also have really awesome salads. or Chopstix - Pan-Asian yumminess. All kinds of Asian delectibles. Lots of tofu choices, lots of meat choices, amazing teriyaki sauce, huge portions.
For lunch:
Whichever of the above that we're not going to for dinner.
The Top - Sweet potato fries (!!!), plus other delectible dishes, many of which incorporate tofu, but there are plenty of options for the meat eaters too. All the food is served by trendy scene kids. Slightly pricey.
Farah's - Hookah lounge. Eat well and smoke a hookah for dessert! Their dishes are mostly middle-eastern, but not exclusively. I am a huge fan of their gyros.
Blue Moon Cafe - Small hole in the wall place (kinda far away too) with the best pesto sandwitch in the world.
Leonardos - Another pizza place that's not as amazingtacular as the first one, but is still pretty good, and cheaper for lunch. Also employs trendy scene kids.
Big Lou's - Yet another pizza place, not as good as the amazingtacular one, but definitely on par with the one I just mentioned, and if you love garlic, you'll looooove their garlic rolls. They don't have trendy scene kids either (bonus?).
9 - Hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant. They have really really spicy curry, and good sized portions.
These are all places you can pretty much only find in Gainesville, no chains, although Farah's does have one other restaurant in Ocala.
I'm incredibly indecisive, so you guys had better start thinking about what you would like to eat while you're here. ;)
wow. that is weird! Someday, I'm going to get my girls and I there, now that both of them are old enough to remember and tall enough to go on most of the rides...
I just need to find the time and the money and.... ;)
